After two years of fighting some in the international community are faltering in their resolve to “stay the course, no matter how long it takes” – these are fine words but action and unity is needed. Ukrainians continue to suffer every day from the effects of russian violence. Putin attacks energy, water and gas systems, to worsen the humanitarian situation as winter arrives. As at Dec. 2023, the World Health Organization verified 1,409 attacks on health care in Ukraine. In Ukraine faltering is not an option and it must not be for us!

Ukraine is still on course to win – it has taken back lost territory and fought Russia to a standstill and continues to make gains in their fight for survival the right to determine their own future.

Together we have already:

• Supported 1.2 million people with food and clothing

• Delivered with Qantas and the ADF over $15m in medical aid,

• Built accommodation and shelter for 12,000 people and provided bedding to 79,000 more

 

We have helped millions of displaced men, women and children to live safety with dignity. There is more to do. The battle continues as does our determination to provide life saving support to those ravaged by Putin’s war.
